August 2009, ARIKA KANE was featured in Hip Hop Weekly Magazine as well as graced headline featured stories in The Venue Newspaper, New York’s Amsterdam News to being featured on the exclusive online entertainment magazine BE Entertainment, as a feature story as an artist gifted and one to watch for.  ARIKA KANE is a media darling!  Arika says, “Music is my only true way of expression,” says Arika.  “I am willing to share all of myself through my music.  There is nothing that I wouldn’t write about because my experiences are what led me to where I am today.” – Arika Kane:)

 

Growing up in Connecticut, Arika began singing at the tender age of 10.  She has been in the presence of music since she was born.  Both parents are musicians and her Dad is also a songwriter. Arika not only sings from her heart, she is also is a songwriter.  Arika grew up in a house of music. Arika is the first to say she has one of the most supportive family members in the world. They truly understand her love of music and songwriting Arika says,  “I was always a big fan of music.  I grew up smack in the middle of big hits like Mariah Carey’s “Vision of Love,” and “Vanishing,” and Whitney Houston’s “Saving All My Love.”  These were very powerful songs which had a huge effect on me.  They had me hooked!”

 

After trying college for a year, Arika realized that music was her passion and made serious steps to pursue it.  Arika eventually found a match made in heaven, when she was introduced to Lou Humphrey, CEO of BSE Recordings. It was not long after their initial meeting that Arika agreed to sign with BSE Recordings.

 

BSE Recordings artist, ARIKA KANE, R&B’s hottest new star made her New York debut February 2009 at a private listening party held at DEX New York Studios. Tastemakers from the worlds of music, film, fashion and media attended the exclusive event. The First Lady of BSE captured the attention of her audience early on as she performed her first recordings, “Why Did We Fall N Luv.” And “Bcuz I Luv U.” The following month, CD BABY selected ARIKA KANE as one of the hottest new up and coming artists to hit the music R&B scene that is headed to the top!  ARIKA KANE’s second single release, BCUZ I LUV U has received numerous airplay in her hometown state of Connecticut at Hartford’s Hottest Hip-Hop and R&B station 93.7 and her single has landed her in the #2 position on the charts in the south being introduced to her southern audience by 107.7 KISS FM radio station.

 

Arika has been on tour, performing at the famous Sugar Bar owned and operated by celebrated artist and songwriters, Ashford & Simpson. She has performed in Springfield, Massachusetts, Fayetteville, North Carolina and her hometown Connecticut.
